Attention: The HUD Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant for FY2010 Funding Is Now Available
WEBINARS AND REGIONAL WORKSHOPS
HUD Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant Program "Preparing to Submit An Application" In conjunction with the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Healthy Housing Solutions will hold FREE webinars to provide applicants to the Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration (LHRD) Grant Program with information and guidance on what to do before preparing a LHRD grant application. The following webinars have been scheduled:
Webinars will be led by Healthy Housing Solutions' technical expert Gordon McKay, former Director of HUD's HOME program. These webinars will be useful to state and local jurisdictions that are considering applying for a LHRD Grant when the Program NOFA is released in the upcoming weeks, including those that have successfully applied in the past. All sessions will be interactive and will address key considerations and actions to be taken now -- before the Program NOFA is released. We encourage all eligible jurisdictions to review the application and apply for funding. It is due to programs such as the Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant that such tremendous strides have been made in the battle against childhood lead poisoning.
FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR YOUR COMMUNITY...
On September 1, 2010, the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Healthy Homes and Lead Hazard Control (OHHLHC) released the FY2010 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for the Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant Program. Under this grant program, $48 million is available to urban jurisdictions including cities, counties, and states with the greatest lead-based paint hazard control needs. Under this program, qualifying cities, counties and states will be eligible to receive a grant of up to $4.5 million for lead hazard reduction. To be eligible under the Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant Program, applicants must:
Please Note: Applicants awarded either a Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control grant or a Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration grant under the FY2009 NOFA competition or under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 are not eligible to apply for the FY2010 Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant Program. However, applicants that were partially funded for either program last year are eligible to apply. Applicants may only apply for either a Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Grant or a Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant, but not both. We encourage all eligible jurisdictions to review the application and apply for funding. It is due to programs such as the Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant that such tremendous strides have been made in the battle against childhood lead poisoning. Applications are due October 15, 2010.
